Our system of care relies on the courage, strength and dedication of the Prehospital Care Providers who, every day, work to keep the people they serve healthy and safe. This document reflects a culmination of evidence-based research, national, state and local standards, which, together provide the latest in pre-hospital care, and reflect the growth of EMS as a specialty in healthcare. While this document, or any document for that matter, cannot specifically address every possible variation of disease or injury, it does provide a foundation for acute care for the majority of patients we respond to.
