Daylight Savings Time ends November 4th, and it’s the perfect time to replace your smoke detector’s battery. A great way to ensure your smoke alarm is always ready is to change the batteries when you reset your clocks in the spring and fall. With cooler weather quickly closing in, you should also check your carbon monoxide alarms to ensure they also have fresh batteries and are in good working order. The cost of a 9 volt battery is nothing compared to the safety of your family this winter.

The Zion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department hosted a Cruzin on Saturday, September 15th beginning at 3 pm. All ages came to see classic cars, trucks and motorcycles as well as street rods on display. There was car competitions with prizes and a great food and fun for everyone who participated.
A extra special thanks to Bev's husband, Jim, who did the
cooking! Frank, who was also at our Poker Run event, provided music for the
Cruiz'n. The Dash Plaques that Jason designed were grand! Everyone
loved them, and Bunkie Trophies did an outstanding job on them. We had
at least 47 vehicles participate in the Car Cruiz'n, and lots of car
watchers come to see the beautiful display of vehicles there. Many of
the participants expressed a desire to host more events like this throughout the year, so we are excited about the positive response.
Cathy Dennsion, President of the Auxiliary, stated, "everyone did a super job,
and I believe everyone that attended enjoyed themselves. Thanks to each
and everyone of you who worked so hard on this event!"
