ZCVFD Annual Awards Banquet

The Zion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department held their annual Banquet on March 24th.

Maxine Danner was chosen as the ZCVFD "Member of the Year" for 2006. Maxine is a faithful member of the Auxiliary, and even before she became a member in 2005, she was a constant supporter of the department by baking items for bake sales and attending department activities. She is highly regarded for her rolls, and delicious desserts.

The Zion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department hosted the Annual Haunted Trail for a creepy night of fun and fright. On Friday and Saturday, 27th & 28th of October from 7pm until 11pm, the Haunted Trail was open and accepted those that dare traverse the scariest, creepiest, most-blood curdling outdoor adventure in this area.

A big thanks goes out to the Youth Group at Zion United Methodist Church for assisting in the decorating and staffing of the numerous scary creatures that were at the Haunted Trail.

Annual Crab Fest fund raiser

ZCVFD hosted the Annual Crab Fest Fund raiser event on Saturday, September 23rd, 2006. From 9am to 2:30pm, community residents came by to pickup fresh #1 male crabs, already cooked and seasoned. Tables were set up at the station, for those that just couldn't wait to dig in!

ZCVFD Open House

Fun, family, food and fellowship. That's what it's all about at the Annual Open House. On Saturday, September 9th,  the Zion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department opened its doors to the residents of the community to remember those that perished in the terrorist attacks on 9/11. 

Along with the department personnel, the Virginia State Forestry Department, Virginia State Police, Red Cross Disaster Recovery Team, and Virginia Blood Services held live demonstrations, games for kids, prizes and free food. 

In all, ZCVFD members and the community donated over 21 pints of blood to Virginia Blood Services
