Thursday, 17 April 2008 |
On Friday, April 18, 2008, The Zion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of James Madison Highway (Route 15) and Route 250 for a 3-vehicle accident with possible entrapment.
Wagon 7 arrived to find a tractor-trailer that had flipped onto its side and had struck two other vehicles that were stopped at the traffic light in the opposite lanes on 250. Louisa County Emergency Services arrived in Medic 91 to evaluate the people involved in the accident. Luckily, all the occupants of the vehicles involved walked away with no injuries.
Virginia State Police along with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office are conducting an investigation as to what caused the truck, that was hauling trash, to flip onto it’s side. Fire units cleared the scene after a few hours, assisting VDOT in traffic control and removing the unsafe truck from the roadway.
