tanker7.jpgZion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department has just placed an order for a new Pierce Kenworth T-370 Tanker. This apparatus will hold 3,000 gallons of water with a 360 horsepower Cummins engine and a 500 gallon per minute Darley pump. It will also be equipped with a 10” electronic dump valve for quick release of water at fire scenes. The new Tanker 7 will also have two 200’ inch-and-three-quarter speed lays and an inch-and-three-quarter front mounted trash line. The truck is currently in production and expected to be delivered about two months after the new Rescue Engine 7-1 ; with delivery in mid-June 2008. This apparatus is a department purchase costing a little more than $200,000 and will be a welcome addition as first-line fire protection to the residents in ZCVFD’s response area.
