Chief Ricky Bywaters with Tanker 7

Zion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department is the proud recipient of a new fire truck. Tanker 7 is a 2008 Pierce Kenworth T-370 Tanker will carry 3,000 gallons of water and will be powered by a 360 horsepower Cummins engine and a 500 gallon per minute Darley pump. It will also be equipped with a 10” electronic dump valve for quick release of water at fire scenes. The new Tanker 7 will also have two 200’ inch-and-three-quarter speed lays and an inch-and-three-quarter front mounted trash line.

"This is a really great looking truck," Bywaters said. "It will also add an additional layer of protection to the residents of our growing community." This is the second new apparatus (Engine 7-1 ) to be acquired by the department in the last 2 months and should be in service by August 12th.

Tanker 7 is a ZCVFD department purchase through Singer Associates Fire Equipment in Manassas, VA.
