Boswells Tavern

Around 10:40 pm on Sunday, October 26th, the Zion Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department along with Trevilians Fire Company 6 was dispatched to Boswells Tavern (Intersection of Routes 15 and 22) for an accident involving a tractor-trailer with entrapment.

Support 7 was in the area on another call and responded to the scene. The tractor-trailer flatbed, carrying shredded recycled rubber, flipped over while heading southbound on Route 15. The truck took out 2 large trees and came very close to striking power lines. The driver self extricated and was checked out by Louisa County Emergency Services on Fire/Medic 7-1 and had no injuries.

Virginia Department of Transportation was called in to assist with the removal of the large trees, and also Dominion Power. Louisa County Sheriff’s office assisted with traffic control. Units remained on scene until the vehicle was removed from the roadway. Units cleared up around 2 am. Virginia State Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
